Disneyland Hong Kong

In March, we spent a couple of days at Disneyland Hong Kong for our Spring Break.  It was a welcome break for the kids and me, because we hadn't left China since arriving in August!  It was also a good time of R&R for Ted.  What a fun treat for all of us!

Let the Good Times Roll!

Headed to the hotel

Gift Shop Galore!

We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel in Hong Kong.  It had the Disney touch, even down to the soap!  The kids were thrilled and the fact that we had to get adjoining rooms (due to the fact that we have 5 people in our family) was an added bonus for everyone.

We could see Space Mountain from our window.
Mickey Ears EVERYWHERE!
Somebody loved the Mickey slippers

I thought this was a cool "fluke" picture.

View of the night fireworks from our room was fantastic!

Space Mountain at night

Mickey waffles?!

Yay!! We made it!!  I'm not sure I've ever worn a jacket at Disney before.  It's usually HOT and raining!
Awesome water features before you get to the gate

Welcome to the happiest place on Earth...

Yes, that is Main Street and yes, we have already bought and put on our rain ponchos!

Round the corner on Main Street and Daniel ALREADY has his souvenier!

Tomorrowland!

Does that say 5 minutes for SPACE MOUNTAIN???  YEAH IT DOES!!!

Space Mountain cars are WAY different!

Ok, I'm coming back for that!
They had Princesses...
Grottos...
More Princesses

And OLAF!

Cinderella's Carousel

Fun statues

And of course MICKEY and friends...

It's a Small World was AMAZING on the outside!!!
And mostly the same on the inside, except they had dolls for all the Disney movie characters.

They had Mad Hatter Tea Cups.

Dumbo

And Toy Story Land was AWESOME!

There were fantastic characters and shows!

And RC Racer was a SUPER COOL roller coaster!

We LOVED the Parachute Drop!!

Mystic Manor was no Haunted Mansion, but it was still a favorite!
It was WAY different, but still classically "Disney" in every way.

There was a really COOL optical illusion garden

And screaming kids!

Disneystyle food

And drinks

They even had Chef Mickey!

I must say that I missed Tom Sawyer's Island, but Tarzan's Treehouse was pretty cute.

Disneyland HK was well done!  It was actually hard to believe we were still in Asia.  It was a smaller park than DisneyWorld, but "felt" like Disney, though it was really different.  We were pleased with the prices (for Disney standards) and were even happier with the small crowds.  We road Space Mountain over and over and just had a fun and fabulous trip!

Our verdict:  WELL DONE, DISNEY!  We thoroughly enjoyed our Disney getaway and look forward to going back!  I hear there is a Disney Shanghai opening in 2016.  Sounds like a great place to spend Spring Break 2016!  :)

Really?!  Do we HAVE to go back to China, or can we stay at Disneyland HK forever?
